Richmond is Virginia’s State Capital with a population of almost 1 million residents in Greater Metropolitan Richmond and surrounding counties, hosting approximately 5 million visitors each year. In addition to the James River, known for boating and fishing, Richmond offers ready access to a geographically diverse set of easy excursion destinations, including:

  • 100 miles to the west of Richmond is Shenandoah Valley boasting the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway
  • 100 miles east to Richmond is Virginia Beach with it's famous and renovated boardwalk
  • Inner Harbor, Baltimore including Camden Yards which is the home of the Baltimore Orioles Major League Baseball team
  • Richmond is also about 100 miles south of Washington, D.C., offering access to 176 resident embassies, professional sports, museums, fine dining, concerts, theater and numerous other sites and activities that would be expected in the Nation's Capital.
